History of the Denebolian Accord Alliance begins long before the Alliance itself, rooted in the rise and collapse of a single planetary civilization.
Birth of the Star City Empire (1946–2000 NT)
The earliest roots of the Denebolian Accord Alliance can be traced back to the Star City Empire, a state that succeeded in unifying much of the planet under a single authority. This unification laid the foundations for global governance, planetary trade networks, and centralized administration.
Rapid technological advancement—driven largely by SHIELD—enabled unprecedented industrial growth and political consolidation, marking the beginning of a truly planetary civilization.
Colonial Era (2000–2016 NT)
During this period, the Star City Empire established numerous new colonies across the planet, expanding into distant and often harsh regions of the same world. These colonies were founded in pursuit of imperial expansion, strategic control, and population redistribution.
Massive industrialization and technological progress triggered a population boom, creating pressure for territorial expansion and new administrative regions. One such eastern colonial region would later develop into what is now known as the High Kingdom of Arnor.
Hydra Great War (2017 NT)
The weaknesses of the Star City Empire became evident with the outbreak of the Hydra Great War. Long-standing internal tensions between SHIELD and Hydra escalated into a full-scale civil war, plunging the Empire into chaos.
This internal collapse was further exacerbated by the emergence of a new alien threat known as the Barbarians, whose incursions strained already fractured imperial defenses. The war devastated both the imperial heartland and its colonies, destroying many of the Empire's unrealized ambitions and permanently ending its dominance.
Aftermath of the Great War (2018 NT)
In the aftermath of the conflict, the imperial core survived as a successor state known as Denebol, governed primarily by SHIELD officials and institutions. Denebol retained much of the Star City Empire's technological infrastructure, military assets, and administrative systems.
Meanwhile, imperial decisions and wartime neglect fueled growing independence movements within the eastern colonies. These movements culminated in the formal emergence of the High Kingdom of Arnor, which declared its sovereignty and began shaping its own political and cultural identity.
Denebolian Accord Era (2019 NT)
As Denebol entered a period of civilian reforms and Arnor struggled through its early years of sovereignty, a third civilization arrived on the planet: Amaurëa. Unlike the other two powers, Amaurëa originated from beyond the planet, bringing with it a history shaped by planetary collapse and resource exhaustion.
With three emerging powers now sharing the same world, fears of another global war over resources, ideology, and influence grew rapidly. In response, Denebol completed its transformation into the Denebolian Republic and began actively pursuing diplomatic engagement with both Arnor and Amaurëa.
Each civilization brought a different historical memory:
-
Denebol remembered the failure of imperial rule and the dangers of unchecked power.
-
Arnor remembered isolation, survival, and abandonment.
-
Amaurëa remembered the consequences of pushing a planet beyond its limits.
From these shared lessons arose a new idea: cooperation based on civil freedoms, mutual prosperity, and collective responsibility.
These ideas led all parties to the negotiating table and resulted in the creation of the Denebolian Accord—an agreement that fundamentally reshaped planetary politics. For the first time, humanity and its allies recognized that they were not alone in this part of the universe. The Accord unified planetary goals toward space exploration and both planetary and interstellar prosperity.
Beginning of the Cold War Era (2020 NT)
With the discovery of new alien powers and hostile forces, cooperation through the Denebolian Accord became more vital than ever. United by the principle that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend," the Alliance stood together for the first time against a common oppressor: Ingerdimnär.
This marked the beginning of a prolonged Cold War, defined by proxy conflicts, military buildup, and expanding interstellar awareness.
Intensifying Conflict & the Arnorian Crisis (2021 NT)
The Denebolian Republic faced a series of attacks on interstellar outposts and installations, forcing a strategic shift toward large-scale military investment. The government launched extensive programs in spacecraft construction, weapons research, intelligence gathering, and scientific exploration.
At the same time, Arnor emerged as a growing diplomatic concern. Tensions escalated following proposals to establish GUARD (Government Utility Authority – Reinforce Division), an alliance-wide organization intended to preserve stability and protect the core ideals of the Accord. GUARD was designed to operate independently of any single nation, overseen by a council representing all member states. Mandatory participation by all members became a key condition.
This requirement marked the beginning of a chain of events later known as the Arnorian Crisis.
During this period, Arnor began experimenting with the sub-dimension, inadvertently endangering not only the planet but potentially the entire universe. Public outrage in the Denebolian Republic was immediate, with citizens demanding accountability and justice.
Subsequent Arnorian actions further intensified tensions. Widespread religious radicalization and unchecked expansion into less developed offworld societies were viewed as serious security threats to both the Denebolian Republic and the Alliance as a whole. In response, Denebol imposed sanctions and demanded immediate withdrawal from all less developed planets.
To demonstrate resolve, the Denebolian Republic enacted a full economic embargo and closed shared borders, effectively crippling Arnor's economy. These measures were taken despite the ongoing Cold War, underscoring that Accord principles would be enforced even under extreme circumstances.
After prolonged and difficult negotiations between all Accord leaders, the crisis was ultimately de-escalated. Arnor agreed to withdraw from all less developed planets, with exceptions granted only where its presence was explicitly welcomed by local populations.
Aftermath of the Crisis & the Stellar Exploration Era (2022 NT)
Following the de-escalation, the Denebolian Republic shifted its focus toward interstellar exploration and defense. The Denebolian Air & Space Force was reorganized into STARS (Strategic Taskforce for Alien Response and Security) and granted the resources necessary to construct a large and modern fleet.
Soon after, the Republic established diplomatic relations with multiple alien civilizations, including the Tuatha Dé Danann and the Gori Merchant Fleet. New trade treaties triggered economic growth, an influx of alien visitors, and the Alliance's formal entry onto the interstellar political stage.
As a consequence of earlier actions, the Kingdom of Arnor faced sanctions under the terms of the Denebolian Accord. Arnor initially refused to comply, raising the risk of renewed conflict. An ultimatum was issued, warning of severe consequences should the sanctions remain unpaid.
Once again, crisis was avoided through the intervention of the Amaurëan diplomatic delegation, which successfully mediated a compromise. From this point forward, relations between the Denebolian Republic and the Kingdom of Arnor began to recover.
However, internal instability within Arnor persisted. Political tensions and internal divisions forced the Denebolian government to prepare contingency plans for potential changes in Arnorian leadership, marking the beginning of a new and uncertain chapter in Accord history.
International Stabilization & Offensive Strategy in the Cold War (Early 2023 NT)
By early 2023 NT, the Denebolian Accord Alliance transitioned from a primarily defensive posture to a coordinated offensive containment strategy against hostile interstellar powers, most notably Ingerdimnär.
Under Denebolian leadership and with Alliance approval, preemptive operations were authorized to reclaim lost territories and disrupt enemy command structures. Key victories during this phase included Operation Phoenix Rising and the Siege of La'Grie Outpost, which significantly weakened Ingerdimnär's regional influence.
Simultaneously, SHIELD conducted Operation Silent Storm, a covert campaign targeting high-ranking Ingerdimnär leadership. These actions destabilized enemy coordination and marked the first sustained Alliance effort to impose long-term strategic pressure rather than reactive defense.
Following the resolution of the Arnorian Crisis, the Denebolian Republic formally restored full diplomatic relations with the High Kingdom of Arnor. Sanctions and security restrictions were lifted, signaling a renewed commitment to cooperation under the Accord. While concerns remained regarding Arnorian involvement in certain external conflicts, all parties agreed to address these issues through dialogue and investigation under the authority of G.U.A.R.D., reinforcing the Alliance's institutional mechanisms.
The Ciris Catastrophe & Alliance Response (Late 2023 NT)
In late 2023 NT, the Alliance faced one of the gravest crises in its history: the Ciris catastrophe. A subdimensional breach originating within Arnorian generator infrastructure led to a massive incursion of hostile extradimensional entities, threatening not only Arnor but the stability of the entire planet.
The event escalated rapidly into a planetary-scale emergency. Arnorian forces bore the brunt of the initial assault, suffering catastrophic losses in personnel, infrastructure, and strategic capability. As the crisis intensified, Denebolian Strike Teams, G.U.A.R.D. elements, and Alliance support units intervened directly, marking the first full-scale joint emergency response under the Accord.
Although the incursion was ultimately contained and a universe-ending scenario narrowly averted, the cost was immense. Arnor emerged gravely weakened—militarily, economically, and demographically—while the Alliance as a whole was forced to confront the reality that subdimensional threats could no longer be treated as regional anomalies.
In the aftermath, the Denebolian Republic called for an extraordinary summit of all Accord member states, to be held at G.U.A.R.D. Headquarters. The agenda focused on two critical issues:
-
Restructuring Alliance-wide emergency response and cooperation mechanisms
-
Assessing responsibility, safeguards, and long-term policy following the Ciris disaster
This summit, scheduled for 2024 NT, was widely regarded as a defining moment for the future of the Accord.
Recovery, Strain, and Strategic Realignment (Late 2023 – Early 2024 NT)
Following Ciris, Arnor entered a prolonged period of recovery and structural strain. Severe losses forced the High Kingdom to withdraw from several external commitments, reduce its interstellar presence, and seek direct assistance from Denebol under Accord frameworks. Denebolian aid focused on stabilizing energy infrastructure, restoring basic supply chains, and preventing further systemic collapse.
At the Alliance level, Ciris accelerated reforms already under discussion. Greater emphasis was placed on shared oversight of high-risk technologies, expanded authority for G.U.A.R.D., and tighter coordination between Denebolian, Arnorian, and Amaurëan strategic doctrines.
At the same time, Denebol continued to expand its interstellar role. STARS operations intensified, and the Republic increasingly functioned as the logistical, diplomatic, and economic hub of the Alliance.
Interstellar Center Era (2024 NT)
By early 2024 NT, the Denebolian Republic had effectively become an interstellar center of gravity. Migrants from allied and neutral worlds settled within Denebolian territory, transforming Denebol Prime into a cosmopolitan nexus of cultures, trade, and diplomacy.
This influx accelerated economic growth, technological innovation, and cultural exchange across the Alliance. New policies ensured equal rights and opportunities for non-native inhabitants, reinforcing Denebol's reputation as a stabilizing and inclusive power.
However, this period of growth coincided with renewed Cold War escalation. Intelligence confirmed that Ingerdimnär had adapted its strategy, preparing for asymmetric strikes rather than direct confrontation. In response, the Alliance announced its first unified deep-space initiative: the Galactic Pathfinder Mission, tasked with exploration, diplomacy, supply of allied installations, and reinforcement of contested borders.
Shortly thereafter, the second round of presidential elections concluded with the victory of Lt. Col. Samantha Carter, Ph.D., who is scheduled to assume office at the end of June 2024 NT. Until then, the Alliance awaits both the return of its ships and the decisions of a new leadership—aware that the Denebolian Accord now stands on the threshold of its most dangerous era yet.
