The Orbitum Accord
The Bitherig people of Orbithia
The Orbitum Accord is a young interstellar power and, unusually, not a single nation but a confederation of three founding peoples who once shared a single solar system as cold-war rivals. United by catastrophe rather than conquest, they now live as a single people — the Bitherigs — upon the world of Orbithia, and are rising steadily toward becoming a second interstellar centre beside Panthalassa. Their structure makes them a small mirror of the Denebolian Accord itself: a union of former rivals, now entering the sphere of a larger union.

Government
Orbithia is governed by a Triune Presidency: three co-presidents, one drawn from each founding people, holding equal authority.
- First Seat Davekk Sorrel — Rigan (currently holds the First Seat);
- President Liane Tethyr — Theleran;
- President Orrun Vakka — Biathite.
A single rotating primacy, the First Seat, cycles between the three on a fixed term. Its holder carries ceremonial precedence, breaks deadlocks, and serves as Orbithia's external voice — and so is the figure who represents and signs for Orbithia before outside powers. Substantive governance proceeds on a majority of two of the three; matters of constitutional weight require the consensus of all three.
Diplomacy
Orbitum is a long-standing friend of the Republic and former signatory of the Blue Eagle Treaty. This treaty was recently superceeded by the Orbithia Agreements. First, the Orbitum Observer Treaty is ascending the Bitherig people into Denebolian Accord as a partner/observer to the accord. This treaty allows limited contribution to the accord and allows use of the Trade Access Corridors, however it does not grant any corridor privileges unless granted separately. Second is the Orbitum Enclave Treaty signed solely with Denebolian Republic. This treaty allows the Republic to include Orbitum System into their sovereign territory, while preserving in-system local jursidiction in Bitherig hands and allows designation and construction of Corridor Hub in the system, operated by Accord institutions. In exchange the Republic will provide military protection, trade and travel connections trough corridors and continue with trade and knowledge exchange.
You can learn more about the Blue Eagle Treaty and the Orbithia Agreements in separate section Interstellar treaties.
Planetary System
The Orbitum System comprises nine celestial bodies, four of them habitable. The new common homeworld, Orbithia, is the system's fifth planet — the fourth habitable world, previously uninhabited and least affected by the orbital disruption. Orbithia is broadly similar to Panthalassa but, sitting as the outermost of the four habitable worlds just beyond the local star's golden habitable zone, it is slightly colder on average. Its year lasts 435 days, and each day is 32 hours long. Since the start of relations with Denebol, Orbithia has begun to grow into a second interstellar centre alongside Panthalassa, though it remains perhaps a decade behind.

Bitherig History
The Orbitum System was home to three sovereign civilizations locked for many years in a cold war, with little communication or cooperation between them:
- the Rigans, of Riga Facili, the second planet;
- the Thelerans, of Thelo, the third planet;
- the Biathite, of Biath Varun, the fourth planet.
Their rivalry was ended not by diplomacy but by disaster. A rogue black hole entered the system and destabilised its planetary orbits, escalating until all three homeworlds were destroyed. In the face of pure self-preservation, the three peoples set aside their hostilities — abandoning them, in fact, even before contact with Denebol — and pooled their efforts to colonise the system's surviving habitable world. The black hole itself passed through the system on a course roughly perpendicular to the galactic plane and has, by now, left the galaxy entirely; it poses no further hazard.
On their new common homeworld the three peoples became one. They call themselves the Bitherigs — a name blending all three founding peoples — and formed the Orbitum Accord.
Culture & Ethnicity
The three founding peoples share a similar genetic makeup and are visually quite alike, with differences chiefly in bone density and internal organ structure that vary according to the conditions of their original worlds. Since unification, widespread cross-breeding has produced a growing population of mixed Bitherigs, who increasingly form the majority.
A notable Bitherig diaspora has settled within the Denebolian Republic — most of them in the Denebolian colonies rather than on Panthalassa, both because life on Panthalassa is expensive for most of them and because of a lengthy naturalisation process and tightened security screening, themselves a consequence of Arnorian hesitancy over open borders for non-Panthalassan citizens on the shared world.
Technology
The Orbitum Accord sits at roughly 90% of Tier I — high in the band, but with a markedly uneven profile. Their signature strength is data and archival technology: they preserved the combined knowledge of all three founding worlds and can access it at any time with the proper technology and recognition codes. Their weakness is propulsion. Their operational craft are sublight only and incapable of interstellar transport, and only recently have they begun testing their own faster-than-light technology — leaving them perhaps ten points short of the 100% threshold that marks the crossing into true interstellar capability.
The Bitherig data archive is a point of sensitivity: Orbitum has not granted full access to it even to members of the Denebolian Accord.
