The military framework of the Denebolian Accord Alliance is based on collective defence, national sovereignty and coordinated joint operations. The Accord does not merge the armed forces of its Member Nations into one permanent army. Each Member Nation keeps its own military command, doctrine, forces, bases and internal defence structure.
The Alliance provides a common framework for situations where threats affect more than one Member Nation, where collective defence is triggered, or where an international joint mission is authorized by the Accord Council. Under Article I, an armed attack against one Member Nation by a non-member state or external non-state actor creates a duty of collective assistance. This assistance may include military support, intelligence sharing, medical and humanitarian aid, logistics, transport support, cyber-defence and diplomatic coordination.
The Accord therefore creates a defence system that is collective, but not centralized. Denebol, Arnor and Amaurëa remain sovereign military actors, while the Alliance coordinates their cooperation when a threat becomes alliance-wide.
Alliance Defence Logic
The Denebolian Accord Alliance is not built around a single doctrine. Its strength comes from combining different military cultures and capabilities.
Denebol contributes advanced technology, intelligence, fleet logistics, interstellar response, scientific support and anomalous-threat containment. Arnor contributes resilient ground forces, elite combat formations, direct military tradition and war-focused space capability. Amaurëa contributes strategic knowledge, advanced technology and future potential as its institutions become more fully defined.
Together, the Alliance creates a defence framework that can respond to conventional invasion, interstellar crisis, piracy, terrorism, technological threats, supernatural or extra-dimensional incidents, humanitarian disasters and threats to Accord-controlled infrastructure.
Strategic Joint Command (SJC)
The Strategic Joint Command, or SJC, is the coordinating body for international joint operations involving forces from multiple Member Nations. Under Article XXI, SJC coordinates joint mission planning, tasking and operational integration only under a mission mandate authorized by the Accord Council. Joint missions are subject to political oversight by the Accord Council and administrative mandate management by the Accord Secretariat.
SJC does not replace national command structures. It exists to coordinate multi-member missions, not to command all national forces at all times. The Accord expressly states that SJC does not limit or redirect Denebolian-only missions or purely national operations conducted under Denebolian authority.
Defence, Self-Defence & Offensive Operations
The Accord makes a clear distinction between defensive action, anticipatory self-defence and offensive action.
Defensive action includes responses to an armed attack or action required to repel an immediate and clearly evidenced external threat. In such cases, collective assistance is mandatory, although the scale, timing and form of each contribution may reflect the operational capacity and readiness of each Member Nation.
Offensive action is treated differently. If an operation is not justified as defensive action under the Accord, participation by other Member Nations is voluntary. No Member Nation may unilaterally classify its own military operation as binding on the rest of the Alliance. This prevents one member from dragging the entire Accord into an offensive war without Council review.
Where there is uncertainty, the matter must be submitted to the Accord Council. Pending review, Member Nations must take reasonable steps to prevent escalation and preserve collective defence readiness.
GUARD & Emergency Intervention
GUARD operates as a neutral supranational emergency and stabilization authority under the Accord. It is not a conventional army and does not serve the political interests of any single Member Nation.
GUARD may operate in Member Nation territory, Accord-controlled or international areas, corridor jurisdictions and relevant space or planetary domains where action falls within its Accord mandate. Its jurisdiction is functional and must not displace national sovereignty beyond what is necessary to carry out authorized action.
GUARD may intervene only under strict triggers, including prevention of mass harm, prevention of inter-member war, containment of prohibited technology, grave rights breaches, collapse of civil order, terrorism, piracy, smuggling or threats to Accord-controlled infrastructure. GUARD action must remain necessary, proportionate and neutral.
GUARD may use designated STARS assets, technologies, vehicles, facilities, personnel attachments and operational support where necessary, but this does not transfer command of STARS as an institution to GUARD except for the specific authorized operation.

Armed Forces Contributions
Military contributions within the Denebolian Accord Alliance remain based on national sovereignty. The Accord does not merge the armed forces of its Member Nations into one permanent alliance army. Each Member Nation keeps its own military command, doctrine, forces, bases and operational structure. The role of the Accord is to coordinate these national capabilities when a threat affects the Alliance as a whole, when collective defence is triggered, or when a joint mission is authorized by the Accord Council.
Each Member Nation contributes according to its own strengths. Denebol provides advanced interstellar logistics, intelligence, security infrastructure, STARS expeditionary capacity, SHIELD support and specialized response capabilities. Arnor contributes strong ground forces, legion-based military tradition, elite combat formations and dedicated war-focused space assets. Amaurëa contributes strategic knowledge, advanced technology and specialized expertise, with its exact military role developing through future Accord coordination.
Denebolian Military Contribution
The Denebolian Republic provides the Alliance with a highly advanced interstellar military, intelligence, technological and emergency-response capability.
Denebolian military power is built around SHIELD, STARS and ARCANE. The Denebolian military page describes SHIELD as the first major organization created for interstellar security, intelligence and technological advancement; STARS as the force focused on defence, exploration and humanitarian missions; and ARCANE as the body responsible for supernatural containment and extra-dimensional defence.
S.T.A.R.S.
Strategic Taskforce for Alien Response and Security — provides Denebol's main interstellar military, exploration, logistics and rapid-response capacity. Its stated goals include interstellar security, logistics and support, emergency response, exploration, humanitarian assistance and scientific research.
STARS is divided into specialized chapter commands, including security and defence, logistics and support, research and development, naval operations, and exploration and colonization. Its forces include expeditionary units, rapid-response squadrons, logistical support and research units.
Within the Accord framework, STARS is the natural source of expeditionary assets, fleet mobility, logistics, humanitarian response and operational support for SJC or GUARD missions
S.H.I.E.L.D.
Strategic Headquarters for Interstellar Enforcement, Logistics and Defense — serves as Denebol's intelligence, security, diplomacy, law-enforcement and technological backbone. Its stated roles include interstellar law enforcement, technological advancement, diplomacy, counterintelligence, training and education. SHIELD also controls homeland and foreign security and leads Denebolian science research.
Within the Accord framework, SHIELD is especially relevant to intelligence sharing, counterintelligence, sensitive technology protection, high-risk security operations and support to GUARD or corridor security.
A.R.C.A.N.E.
Advanced Research and Containment for Anomalous, Necromantic and Extra-dimensional — handles supernatural and extra-dimensional threats. Its roles include supernatural threat containment, research and development, containment of mystical entities, interdimensional defence and regulation of magical or paranormal practices.
Within the Accord framework, ARCANE provides specialized support where ordinary military or intelligence tools are insufficient, especially in cases involving anomalous materials, extra-dimensional threats or uncontrolled supernatural phenomena.
Arnorian Military Contribution
The High Kingdom of Arnor provides the Alliance with a very different military tradition: ground-focused, disciplined, honour-based and highly adapted to direct warfare.
The Arnorian military has shifted from large legion-oriented armies toward more flexible company-based forces. These companies often combine Praetorians, legionaries and Rangers, creating formations suited for smaller, dispersed conflicts rather than only large conventional battles. Arnorian doctrine remains strong in open battle, wilderness combat, fortification defence and direct confrontation, while infiltration and deception are not its natural strengths.
Ground Forces & Legions
Arnorian ground power is based primarily on the Legions. The Legions are standardized military formations with individual specializations and historical identities. Each legion is composed of fighting personnel and supporting auxiliaries, including medics, engineers, logisticians, scouts, signal technicians and witchers or witches.
In the Alliance framework, Arnorian forces provide resilient infantry, elite assault troops, scouts, defensive formations and strong planetary warfare capability.
ARSN
The Arnorian Royal Space Navy, often nicknamed Spaceguard, secures space, intercepts enemy vessels and supports other branches through transport, orbital bombardment and Spaceguard Marines. Arnorian vessels are described as heavily focused on warfare, partly because Arnor relies on Denebolian cooperation and subdimension jumps for interplanetary travel.
This gives the Alliance a complementary military profile: Denebol provides advanced interstellar systems and broad mission infrastructure, while Arnor contributes hard military resilience, direct-combat capability and a dedicated war-focused fleet.
GUARD Contribution
Arnor also contributes to GUARD through selected volunteers from the Sisters of Blood and Praetorian adepts, forming Silent Sisters and Squire Palatina. These forces are described as small in number, but highly capable, with the Sisters surpassing other Guards in most areas except technology and undercover-agent skills.
Amaurëan Military Contribution
Amaurëa is a full Member Nation of the Accord, but its military is currently not developed in detail yet. For now, its role is as a strategic, technological and knowledge-based member rather than as a fully documented military power.
Amaurëa is a member whose military contribution remains subject to further documentation, but their technology and strategic knowledge are important to the Alliance.
Accord Civil Protection Service (CIPS)
The Accord Civil Protection Service, or CIPS, is not a military branch. It is the Alliance's international public safety and emergency response service. Under Article XXII, CIPS provides civilian policing, public order services, emergency medical response, firefighting, rescue operations, emergency engineering and incident stabilization within its jurisdiction.
CIPS operates only in Accord-controlled and international areas, including the Accord HQ campus, TRACE, designated sectors of DIUSS and INFINITY, corridor hubs and Accord-controlled galactic sectors. It does not conduct general policing inside Member State territory and does not command national armed forces.
This means the Accord separates military defence from public safety. SJC coordinates joint military missions, GUARD intervenes in extreme emergency situations, and CIPS maintains public order and emergency response in Accord-controlled spaces.
